Starting Out

1) The rebbe said what should be done, not how to do it

2) Know your mokom shlichus

From when u know whats needed and have the vision, share it right away and act upon it

3) Know your talents

4) Build personal relationships .with everyone

Try to find to people that u feel will be high level contributors to the mossad and set up a chavrusa with them

5) Build trust and confidence

Have people behind u, like having dignitaries by chanukah lighting or have then send out a high holiday video with wishing chabad of .. a good year,

6) Make it we or you, not i

People have to feel thats its their chabad house

7) pound the pavement

8) better to have 3 knockout events with lots of people then 12 with less , and u could give more kochus to it

9) find a older shliach that has experience in the demographic u want to focus in

(it could be multiple shluchim each in a different topic)

10)  There are things that will give u a geshmak and a boost ( like a shiur ..) try to spread that over your schedule

Tips for maintaining new relationships

While starting out in a new place it takes a long time for programs to happen and people and money to come.

In the beginning it about maintaining the relationships

The day after a event that had people u want to get to know, message them the next day ( while its its fresh) that u didn't have a chance to talk and if they are willing to meet  and find out more about them

Every Friday send out good shabbos messages. It doesn't have to be the whole contact list, at least once a month make sure to reach out to them, especially the new people don't message them every week. Make sure to make phone calls also once a month( of course think and u not over contacting people and leave breathing space.)

During the initial meetings ask them to tell u there story and that usually makes them talk, then write down the main points and next time u talk to them u could bring up somethings they mentioned.

From the beginning always have steady programs( a class, upcoming holiday..) that u could tell them even during the first meet, and ask them for their number tso u could let them know more details about it

Organizing Your Chabad House

A shliach has limited time and his talents would go wasted if he does everything,

so its important that as soon as possible once u move done to hire someone to help out, the more that u could get someone else to do, then more more time u have for mivtzoim,

(keep it mind that when someone else does s a job it will never be %100 how u like it, u have to measure out if u are gaining more then losing with someone else doing the job)

Have volunteers do things , like bringing the cholent to the kiddush, buying the cups …
